*Captain Charles Eugene Laviolette*
On 7 April 1973, a helicopter carrying Captain Charles Laviolette and eight other international members of the International Commission for Control and Supervision in Vietnam (ICCS) was shot down after taking ground fire on a flight from Gio Linh to Lao Bao, killing all on board.
The ICCS was established in 1973 to supervise the Paris Peace Accords that was intended to end the Vietnam War. Canada’s participation in ICCS was from January to July 1973, during the time period of the withdrawal of American combat troops.
Captain Laviolette was a member of 12e Régiment Blindé du Canada and a 29 year member of the Canadian Army, having arrived in Vietnam only two months previously. He was 42 years old.
Captain Laviolette was the third and final member of Canada’s military to die on peacekeeping operations in Vietnam. The other two, Sergeant James Byrne of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and Corporal Vernon Perkin of The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, were killed in an airplane crash on 18 October 1965 along with Canadian diplomat John Turner, while serving under the International Commission for Supervision and Control, the predecessor mission to ICCS.
Captain Laviolette’s body was recovered and he was buried with full military honours in Cimetière Saint-Charles in Ville Les Saules, Quebec.

Video of a shelf I built for my scale model paint. • The whole shelf is 23 3/4" (60.3cm) wide by 12" (30.5cm) high. • Each inner shelf is 23" (58.4cm) wide. • A Tamiya 1/3 FL.OZ. (10ml) bottle has about 7/8" (2cm) of clearing space above it. I can fit 16 bottles per shelf for a total of 64 bottles. • The shelf can hold 64 Tamiya bottles weighing approximately 7 lbs (3.2 kg).

Maybe next time consider 1/32 sheeting. It works best when u replace the 1/16 stringers with 8th x 16th and convex them a bit with water and some heat so the sheeting doesn't concave between the formers.

The laser cut stuff looks like a serious improvement over the old die crushed. I'm building a crushed 36" 172 from about 82' right now😂 so basically 80% scratch, u know how it is. Great job man

Guess it’s alright but do you not know how to use small fingernail files to shake add detail to motor sanding down prop gun adding bolt heads I guess I’m just so anal for perfection other just settle for get by, the pilot for instance. Sucks come it down for detail, I dunno looks thrown together if ask me I dunno had to rip apart another mans treasure

Since last year I've built four 144th scale models with a 5th one on the bench (F-14A Tomcat). I am doing this as I am currently limited in shelf space. I'll admit that I enjoy quick builds that don't take months to complete (I average 8 to 12 hours) in this scale.

I have ambitions of building a 1/24 scale WW2 warbird and a 1/32 scale WW2 multi-engine plane, but space and money are both limited. I have three daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson. Maybe I can interest them.

You just rambled on & on…. Just stick to the topics shown on the video. Regards to covering, you did a great job & the clear Krylon seems to dive most shrinking & wrinkle problems. Your model turned out great. There’s a special technique on the use of Guillow’s decals. Just keep them soaking in water until they’re literally floating off the carrier paper. Good show.

Good build, you put a lot effort into this project, for what I presume is strictly for static display purposes only, since there didn’t seem to be any indication otherwise. I thought it might be good to recommend that you try, on future builds, using Monokote or Mylar that may be tightened with the application of heat and then leaves a nice smooth waterproof surface to paint, or, in the event it is the correct final color, it may be left alone. It may save you substantial time, not to mention that it also may be much lighter than many coats of paint and more durable as well. When your children are older, you may wish to convert these airplanes for RC flight. Thank you for sharing this video! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨✈️

If you want model paints go to hobby lobby they have every paint you need for model cars they have Tamiya and model master and a few other brands of modeling paints. But don't use modeling paints guys on any foam rc planes but looks like it would look good to do tissue and paint it instead of the see through ultra lite uktracote or monokote if you make this a rc plane I like the paint better I'm gonna do same thing instead of the monokote wrap would look way better with a airbrush

I literally just got done building this plane I saved the kit wood and built it from scratch it's an amazing rc flying plane I love it flies amazing and nice and straight and level just make sure everything stays square and sand the wood smooth before you wrap it and make sure it's straight take your time to sand and square everything up

Built this one years ago , it looked good but it had mistakes , but to build it again I would fill all sections with Wall insulation foam board sand it then Pva the tissue , the Guillows Kits were for their time but modern day you need a diffrent approach..good vid.
